Q: Do I have to buy the ebook to participate in a book club?

No, you don’t have to buy the ebook to participate, but we do recommend it to get the most out of your club. There are several premium social reading features that are only available when you buy the ebook, like annotations, reactions, comment threads, resources, discussion prompts, and more, all embedded right in the text. It’s a unique and immersive way to read.

Q: Why can’t I buy the ebook on the app?

It’s annoying, we know. App store rules prevent us from selling directly in the app, so for now you can only purchase ebooks on our website. Don’t worry: when you purchase an ebook on the web, it’s automatically added to your bookshelf in the app.

Q: How is Fable’s reader different from Kindle?

Kindle is a straightforward e-reader; Fable is an interactive e-reader that includes social features inside the ebooks. Most of our clubs are completely free to join. The only exceptions are clubs marked as “Premium” or “Career Development,” which do require a fee. You can find out more on each club’s detail page.

“this is, so far, the most poignant book in the series. u have to sit with lots of discomfort as u experience the uncanny, homesickness, motion sickness and being lost at sea for 75% of this book. then it gets better, as summer transits into autumn: the sea no longer strange, u stop begging the moomins to return to moonminvalley, u start to accept this island without needing to understand it. in the end some things make sense but many remain a mystery. the moomins have rekindled my hope to remain patient: my island (literally) will feel like home one day without me noticing the change and i will no longer dream of my apple tree and it will feel like mondays again.”

“Moomin-family put into a new and difficult environment = character development🤗 This feels different to the other moomin family stories, in a good way♡ I think out of the (now) 7 moomin books that ive read, this is the one i would choose to write an essay on, there's so much in terms of serious themes and meanings in here <3 I really enjoyed reading about Moominmammas paintings, Moomintrolls self-discovery and of course Little My's chaotic wisdom😌 I loved the Groke in this book, it was so sweet to read moomintroll taking into account her feelings and not just dismiss her as being scary or a problem :)) Moominmama is so lovely and comforting, it was interesting to see her go through some mental health stuff, it made me like her more♡ Moominpappa kind of annoyed me in this book, he was just so selfish and didnt really change or apologise and made his entire family adapt to what he wanted and was rude to the fisherman😤 Little My was especially ruthless in this book... I love her <3”
