In the summer of 1965, eighteen year-old James Vagus has no plans for his future—until a shadowy recruiter offers him a path he never imagined: espionage. Trained for a life of danger and secrecy, James finds himself thrust into a world where every move is calculated, and every mistake could be his last.

His first mission takes him to the sun-soaked beaches of Miami, where he must infiltrate the Golden Syndicate, a covert operation led by the enigmatic Dr. van Heerden. With the help of fellow operative Dakota Walker, a Cherokee teen, James dives headfirst into a deadly game of deceit, betrayal, and international intrigue. From high-stakes surveillance to harrowing escapes, the two agents race against time to stop a plot to destabilize the Western world's food supplies and upset the delicate global balance of power.

James and Dakota must navigate treacherous waters—from Miami to Vienna to Madras to the Florida Keys—piecing together the clues that could unravel a catastrophic plan. But as danger mounts and sacrifices become inevitable, the two agents must challenge themselves to go further then they ever have to be able to save a world teetering on the edge of disaster.
