“Absolutely loved this book!!
Can't wait for the third and final book in the series in 2025!!☺️”
“Isobel is a debutante who is on her way to London when she meets Prince Claudio who is also on his way to London. Their first meeting does not go well. But when they meet again there is something between them. Can Isobel and Claudio move past their first impressions of each other?
Prior to reading this book I was in a reading slump and this book definitely pulled me out of that slump. It was just the book that I needed and it arrived at the perfect time. I adored this book especially because I love stories set in the regency period. I loved the storyline. It was filled with romance, drama and lots of gossip from the Ton.
The first interaction between Isobel and Claudio was memorable and nothing short of perfection. It really made me laugh especially because Claudio mistakes Isobel for a servant and she doesn't believe that he's a Prince. So when he mentions his title the response from Isobel isn’t what he’s expecting. Instead of being impressed Isobel replies with a sassy comment. It is this encounter that follows Isobel and Claudio throughout the story, starts something between them and a relationship that they didn't think would ever happen. Although the main storyline concentrates on Isobel and Claudio’s interactions there is also a secondary storyline involving Isobel and her sisters (Isobel is one of three identical triplets) trying to find out about their parentage and where they come from.
Isobel and Claudio are two characters that I won’t forget quickly. Although they have very different positions in society they have a lot in common. They are both stubborn, headstrong and have similar views on marriage. Isobel isn’t looking to get married but knows that it is the only way she can have a life but the one thing that hampers her marriage prospects is that she has no information about her parentage. Claudio is what I would describe as playboy Prince. It is expected that he will find a bride and there is lots of interest in him, but all of the women he has met haven’t been extraordinary or captured his attention. That is until he meets Isobel who is a force of nature. Although they share some sharp words and it appears that they dislike each other, the truth is something different. In fact they can’t seem to stay away from each other and seek the other out at events. One of my favourite scenes involved Isobel, Claudio and the library.
When I read this book I didn't realise that it was the second book in The Triplet Orphans series. I can’t wait to read the first book and the third book to learn more about Isobel’s sisters.
If you’re a fan of regency romances with the enemies to lover trope then this is one I would highly recommend.”
