“I was excited for this and I really wanted to like it, but it was slow and dense and the protagonist was just in his own head too much for good pride. It felt like some concepts were kind of shoehorned into the exposition of his thoughts.”
“Interesting novel with interesting story. I liked the exploration of complexity between Wyatt’s struggle to create and the political interpretation by the painting world on black painters. And the conversations Wyatt has with others about it.
I thought there would be some more dramatic scenes between Wyatt and his lover but I think I lost a bit of the plot at times, mainly due to my own focus.
Still, I enjoyed it.”
