“I was hoping for more: I appreciate that not every story with a female antagonist is misogynistic, and not every story with antagonistic roots in Africa is racist, but I'm pretty sure this one was both. It wasn't scary, or unsettling, or even have a surprising end, it was just...meh. Also, I listened to this on audiobook, and the narrator had a thick Canadian accent trying to do a thick Missouri accent and it was never going to sound good.”
