Publisher Description

Although I have been writing poetry since the early 1970's, this is the first time I have put together most of my poems, and published them.

There are three rap songs, and two folk songs included. A couple of Sestinas and an Ekphrasis, with many Tanka's, and poems which I have used from my first book called, BLUE LIGHTS AND BUTTERFLIES. My book includes sketches and photos; which I hope you will enjoy. My poems include a tribute to the 25 young boys from Whitechapel who fought in the first world war, all from the same road, and who, never came home, the youngest being 12. There is a poem about Stillbirth, rape and murder, veganism, and the environment. Tribute poems for my favourite artists, using their song titles that span decades. The tribute poems are for Bob Dylan, with reference to Emmett Till, Roger Waters and Pink Floyd, Neil Young, and the incomparable Van Morisson. In all, a very mixed bag of creative and imaginative works:

Marcus is an Empath of the highest order, and a Synthete, one who has Synaesthesia. I loved his first book, Blue Lights and Butterflies, its real life, honest, and raw, not everyone will be able to take the journey into his experiences. I love this book too, as its honest, and sometimes gut wrenching, yet all true. He used to perform in poetry clubs, and once when he was reading a poem, about the death of his dog, three ladies ran out of the venue in floods of tears. I hope people read his offerings.                                  Esmeralda K.
