Tristan has a lot on his plate. His wife dies of Malaria and he himself is now fighting the deadly disease. He does not know if he will live but his one concern is his two young kids and leaving them with out parents. He hires a governess to watch after the children and if his plans work the way he hopes maybe there mom.
Caroline loves children but fears she will never marry again and have her own so becoming a governess will give her a borrowed family. What she did not expect was to have feeling for the Major she is working for. Will Tristan and Caroline over come the obstacles before them to find true love?
This was a new author for me and I am a fan of the love inspired line. I enjoyed this book.
What I liked: The author did a great job bring these characters to life. Sometimes the love inspired line of books don’t always have great character development due to being shorter books in general. This book took the time to give back story so you really got to know how the characters felt and why which I really liked! I also felt the story line was well rounded. We even got to know the kids a little and understand how they where feeling and dealing with their mothers death etc.
What I did not like: There is not much I did not like in this book. The only thing was how fast the main characters grew to like each other with out really knowing each other but I also know some of that is time period as well and it did not take away from the book just something I find a little unbelievable.
Over all a great book. This is the 4th book in the series but can easily be read as a stand alone. I hope to go back and read the other books in the series at some point. Even though I did not read the other three books I felt this was a good wrap of the ladies it followed by having all the other characters take part in the final part of the book.
I would definitely add this book and/or series to your wish list!
