Red Angry Face“Disclaimer, i didn't realize this was part of a series until after i finished the book. I really haven't disliked a character as much as I dislike Magnolia. She is so out of touch and I just couldn't get over that. I guess I've never experienced wealth from a wealthy person's point of view. The descriptions of fashion were not for me, they seemed random and jarring placed. So many things didn't get wrapped up. There was a whole build up of the Julian and Daisy line then ... nothing. The beginning scene she treats Henry entirely differently than she does the rest of the book. There are references to SA and suicide or NDE that aren't explained (though maybe those are explored in earlier books). Lastly, she is extremely grief stricken and then suddenly isn't. It's extremely out of the blue from Mt perspective and the whole healing and 'okayness' at the end feels really rushed. The writing itself is beautiful and engaging, but Magnolia Parks as a character is the exact type of person I stay away from IRL. I definitely only finished this for the writing.”

Loudly Crying Face“🥹🫶 after reading the first book...never thought I'd end up loving these characters. 😭 I'm going to miss them!! It was a tough journey but Magnolia and BJ are truly soulmates. This book is heavy on grief 💔. Had me crying throughout the book both happy and sad tears. I'm glad they both in therapy and that its helping. @Natasha sorry for all the random messages 😅 thank you for being there for me thru this series 💜 can't wait for the next Daisy book tho!! I need it asap. This story didn't feel finished I needed more 😪 hopefully there's an epilogue or novella in the future 🙏”

About Jessa Hastings

Jessa Hastings is an Australian native who now lives in Southern California with her husband, two children, two cats, and a dog. They have, as their best friend calls it, gone “full farm.” Jessa is a chronic overthinker and has, in this very moment, begrudgingly accepted American coffee and how depressing it is. She finds Twitter and small talk equally terrifying, and often pines for a sourdough loaf in America that doesn't make her tummy hurt or cost $45 for half a loaf. Magnolia Parks was her debut novel and the launch of the series, and she clearly still struggles to write a concise or topically relevant author’s biography. She is sorry for this.
