“It was a nice fantasy book. I did enjoy the powers featured in the story also the great mythical characters woven into the story. The plot was quite slow sometimes and the storyline did get confusing as well.”

“I liked the magic in this story and the characters, but the whole thing was so serious from the very beginning that it started to feel a little bit relentless. I wanted a little more joy from the book even though it was a dark and tumultuous setting. Not a bad book, just very very very serious from beginning to end.”

“A darkly rich story filled with eerie mystical forests, haunting immortals, and a lot of exploration into familial trauma and bonds. The pacing of this story was really well done in the introduction to the more magical aspects of the world. Lucha's personality, motivations, and weaknesses all felt very grounded in her character and believable for her growth. The entire time I just rooted for her to have some peace and happiness, so yes, this one had my heart aching for her.”
