“I didn’t have many expectations for this book but I must say I eventually got hooked as I made progress in the reading. This book perfectly illustrates the pressure society puts on women to remain young and how they are cruelly cast aside when old age inevitably comes. Von Arnim was so forward-thinking for her time. I really expected the ending to be way different but whatever.”
