Lora Ley - Book Two - Nibelung
ByPublisher Description
Lora Ley is a half nixie half human who discovers her Nyx side in Book One - Secrets of the Nyx. In Book Two of the series, Lora and her friends travel back to the era of Germanic legend, dragons and heroes on a quest to save the Nibelung treasure and solve a devious mystery.
When Wolf and Lora receive a strange parcel, they soon discover it comes from another time, back in the days when Germanic hero Siegfried of Xanten slays a dragon and helps a Burgundian King in very underhanded ways. Lora and Wolf are distracted by an anxious Skoldt, a vegan Norwegian brook horse whose sister is on the way to visit, and a circus traveling through town. Understanding the nature of water spirits, the greedy circus owner and his peculiar assistant devise a cunning plan to capture the Nyx.
When they're all swept into the past, shades of Shakespeare's Midsummer Night's Dream arise, as the beautiful Kriemhild, wife of Siegfried, drinks a potion and falls in love with Ratzel, giant rat and best friend of salamander goblin Krogg. Meanwhile, a camp of Romans and Attila the Hun (Etzel) prepare to invade the Burgundian stronghold. Lora, Wolf, the unfortunate circus owner, his gnomish assistant, romantic warrior dwarf Caspar, the two beautiful brook horses, along with Krogg and Ratzel, are all caught in the fray.
Will they find the treasure, solve the mystery and make it back home all in one piece? Action, adventure, humor, magic and historical drama combine for a fast-paced tale of subterfuge, love and riches.
