There were aspects of the story that I didn’t love, which I could more so chalk up to the year this was published. I was impressed by how well it handled a mentally ill parental figures as well as trauma stemming from childhood abandonment. Sure, it was very surface level since it’s a harlequin book, but it was still nicely handled despite that.”
