First drink. First prank. First friend. First love.

Last words.

Miles Halter is fascinated by famous last words—and tired of his safe life at home. He leaves for boarding school to seek what the dying poet François Rabelais called the “Great Perhaps.” Much awaits Miles at Culver Creek, including Alaska Young, who will pull Miles into her labyrinth and catapult him into the Great Perhaps.

Looking for Alaska brilliantly chronicles the indelible impact one life can have on another. A modern classic, this stunning debut marked #1 bestselling author John Green’s arrival as a groundbreaking new voice in contemporary fiction.

Newly updated edition includes a brand-new Readers' Guide featuring a Q&A with author John Green

“I think this is my favourite book . As a teenager i related to a lot of emotions and feelings in the book. The story is about Miles who leaves his life in Florida to join a boarding school in Alabama to seek the GREAT . He then encounters Chip or colonel, Takumi and Alaska. Alaska young made him different. Made his life memorable and became a centre force of Miles life . And then 'POOF' she is gone . And Miles is left to search for the real Alaska. This book revolves around the theme if Labyrinth. How to escape the labyrinth of suffering??? Straight and Fast like Alaska?? Or some other way. It got me thinking about life in a different way , about future and the endless labyrinth. Now i myself too seek for The Great . The writing in this book was/ is beautiful. Some of the quotes touched my soul . " If people were rain , I was drizzle and she was a hurricane" " You spend your whole life stuck in the labyrinth, thinking about how you'll escape it one day ,and how awesome it will be,and imagining that future keeps you going , but you never do it. You just use the future to escape the present. " " The haphazard collection of literature that was Alaska" I wanna live my life to the fullest , seek the great and become one hurricane of a person . Hope the future adult me loves this book as much as the teenage me does.”
