Little Lord Fauntleroy Reviews

Beaming Face with Smiling Eyes“Such a beautiful, fun, engaging story! I have grown up reading some of Burnett’s other classics such as The Secret Garden, and The Little Princess and Little Lord Fauntleroy did not disappoint. The story follows a seven-year-old boy named Cedric who finds out he is next in line to be an earl. With a plethora of vivid and hilarious characters and a grumpy old earl for a mentor, little lord Fauntleroy changes the hearts and minds of those around him. Charming strangers and friends alike with his kindness, compassion, insight, and childishness he proves the awesome example of what an open mind and heart can do. A study on power and what human can and have done with it the author provides outlook on both sides with the child’s grandfather, the current earl, demonstrating the corruption power often provides, with what good can be done with the power given to you. With an engaging plot twist and a main character that is the exact juxtaposition of characters like Mary in The Secret Garden the audience learns the effects bravery, and compassion have on a community… or specifically a grumpy earl.”
“Such a sweet story! Read the majority of Little Lord Fauntleroy on a Saturday morning and it was a lovely start to my day. I’ve wanted to read it for years after reading The Secret Garden & A Little Princess and finally found a copy in a Savers, so that made it even sweeter.”
