Sales of her popular Sudoku books also sagged, leaving Cora and her niece, Sherry, who actually constructs the crosswords, to live on the modest income from the Puzzle Lady crossword puzzle column.
Now Cora is filming her life story on location in New York City, and things couldn’t be worse. She doesn’t like the script, she doesn’t like the director, and she absolutely hates the actress who is playing her in the movie.

“It felt like 60-70% of the story was dialogue, which isn't inherently a bad thing, but the way it looks on the page, it read very manic, almost. There were murder(s), people wanted to solve it. There's urgency & because of all the talking, the momentum got me caught up in the story. It felt like I was a fly on the wall of Cougar Town or Gilmore Girls & they had a crossover episode with a Hallmark Mystery.
I finished it. I liked it, but because I read/listen to a lot of horror books, I'm used to a slower start where would building is decidedly important. This book employed a different mechanic that made the story arrive faster, but it didn't allow the characters themselves to bloom or explore the space.”birds read books!
