“This book was hard to get everything sorted for me to get into it. I should have re-read metal slinger first. The recaps on instagram weren’t enough. I got really sucked into it once I finally figured everything out but it never stopped being work to keep all the characters, territories and alliances straight and it was especially hard bc everyone kept flipping sides.
What I remember of metal slinger too was the Alaha, Kenta and vast amounts of time on a boat. I think if this book was going to be this complex then somehow the other territories should have been more memorable, so this book just wasn’t quite so hard?
I did like the found family, the characters, the FMC, and the book as a whole, but my brain can’t do another right now. There will be another book from another character’s POV after this too even though this was a duology.”
“I never DNF (16%) but here we are. I'm so bored. This is so disappointing after book 1, which was one of my favourite romantasy reads of the last year. 🫣
