“The couple: York and Angel
Romance trope: DD/lg
Series: Military Daddies
Length: 152 pages
Plot: York and Angel were a couple way back when, but things got a little too intense for her, and she left him. She got married to the wrong man, and he's dead now. York showed back up for the funeral, not to pay his respects but to reconnect with Angel. He bides his time, showing her that he can be the person she needs and that there is no reason for them to ever part again.
Commentary: York was so incredibly patient with Angel, and I loved that about him. I do wish there had been some more background about both characters, but I did like what we got (with one exception - I never really believe it when HS characters are into Daddy kink - I mean, I know it starts somewhere, but I just have trouble believing it.). I guess if you didn't know that Angel's husband was a cheating jerk, you might be weirded out by the fact that her old boyfriend showed up at her husband's funeral looking for a second chance, but I guess you have to take your chances when they appear!
