Why read on Fable?
Publisher Description
The debut novel from Adi Alsaid, acclaimed author of Never Always Sometimes, North of Happy, and We Didn’t Ask for This
Five strangers. 4,286 miles. One epic adventure.
Hudson, Bree, Elliot, and Sonia have only one thing in common: a girl named Leila. On a mission to see the Northern lights, Leila drives from Louisiana to Alaska, crashing into each of their lives in her absurdly red car.
From prom night disasters to first loves and family weddings, Leila’s cross-country adventure helps each of these four find something that was missing. But no journey is complete without a destination—and for Leila, the end of her trip might just bring her right back to the beginning. Back to the truth she knew all along: that perhaps, the only way to find what you’re looking for is to get a little lost along the way.
“Reminiscent of John Green’s Paper Towns, Alsaid’s debut is a gem among contemporary YA novels.”
—School Library Journal

“This book has been sitting on my shelf for 4 years! Yes 4 years. I can’t believe I stopped myself from reading it. It might not be the best book I have ever read but this surely saved me from my reading slump. It’s a good book if you just want a light read. It’s just hard to follow and remember everyone’s story and I feel like Leila’s story should’ve been longer. But my favorite quote is:
“People hurt each other. It happens to everyone. Intentionally, unintentionally, regretfully or not. It’s part of what we do as people. The beauty is that we have the ability to heal and forget””

“I listened to this on audio. The person who voiced it did a terrible with Hudson’s accent. It was distracting and made me want to DNF during the first part. Hudson’s part was also my least favorite and I found the others much more interesting. Overall it was a light, easy read.”

“This one off story of love and hope and unconditional kindness in the face of adversity was such a heartwarming read!”
