Let's Cut Up Dad! and Other Stories of Transgressive Madness

By Douglas Ford
Let's Cut Up Dad! and Other Stories of Transgressive Madness by Douglas Ford digital book - Fable

Publisher Description

A curious girl experiments with her father's putrefying corpse. An attempt at resurrection in Key West leads to an unusual meal. An evening with a babysitter brings forth an altogether different form of "Satanic Panic."

Tim Waggoner calls Douglas Ford a "sinister surgeon with a night black scalpel," and with this collection of stories, you're invited to witness what happens when we cut up dad.

"A must-read that starts off with a bang and continues at the same fiery pace for which Ford is best known."

~ Cindy O'Quinn, Bram Stoker Award® winning author

Surprised Face with Open Mouth“For years, I've been searching for weird books, but nothing stuck with me until I started reading Douglas Ford's books. Unpredictable, horrifying, intriguing. I'm not normally a fan of short stories, but this collection hooked me. I love the weirdness and unpredictability of these stories. How weird and unpredictable they were added to the already horrifying elements, and I loved it. Some of my favorites were "The Layover," "Gatortooth Sam," and "Children of the Goat Man." Starting with "Let's Cut up Dad!" was a perfect introduction to what these stories would be like. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review honestly, with no bias.”
Surprised Face with Open Mouth“This collection of short horror stories was superlative in its weirdness, creepiness and just over the top entertaining! It starts strongly from the very first story where two girls experiment with their father's body, which was really dark but I couldn’t stop reading it! The following stories are all amazing and I honestly can’t find one I didn’t like or wasn’t surprised by. The writer’s talent is such that with every story the reader cannot predict where it will go, at all, not even an inkling of the sheer madness they’re in for! And that is what kept me reading one story after another, just thirsty of this weirdness and highly atmospheric collection. If it’s not clear I loved every single story and each had a scene or a character that will stay with me for a long time. This writer managed to transform mundane events like a train journey, or a bus ride to school into something horrific and irrational and I was there for every second of it! Can’t wait to read more! Thanks to the author for a copy and this is my honest opinion.”
“Want a book full of crazy stories! Then this book by Douglas Ford doesn’t disappoint! Full of 16 different and bizarre stories all about dad! And I loved everything about this book!”
