“I wasn’t really sure what to expect before starting this book. I didn’t read the back cover, and I’m really glad that I went in blind. There are multiple magic systems in this book, significant world building and back story, and the characters are well developed and exhibited a lot depth. The twist at the end was not predictable for me, and I felt it was perfectly executed. And the backstory, while heartbreaking, brings all the missing pieces together. A beautifully written and exciting story that I highly recommend to anyone who loves fantasy! I already have book two and am anxious to see what happens next!”
