“went into this bad boy blind!
perhaps on me that I was disappointed in the ending a little, as my dumbass was waiting for it to be all thriller like a shit.
other than that, I really enjoyed this one!! I loved the approach the author took on the environment and how people are so easily impacted by the sun. for me, this felt really similar to the alchemist (another book I loved)!
I’m crazy and listened to this on 2.5x speed, so for me this felt like a quick read… I have no idea if it actually is… but I was hooked! I just wanted to know more about this world, and see how things end up for josie and klara.
if I knew more about the storyline I probably would’ve enjoyed myself more. the ending was satisfying, but just not what I thought it was going to be, so that’s totally on me!”
About Kazuo Ishiguro
KAZUO ISHIGURO was born in Nagasaki, Japan, in 1954 and moved to Britain at the age of five. His eight previous works of fiction have earned him many honors around the world, including the Nobel Prize in Literature and the Booker Prize. His work has been translated into over fifty languages, and The Remains of the Day and Never Let Me Go, both made into acclaimed films, have each sold more than 2 million copies. He was given a knighthood in 2018 for Services to Literature. He also holds the decorations of Chevalier de l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres from France and the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Star from Japan.
