“I don’t love stories of rape victims and black men being written by a white man. It feels flat, stereotypical, misogynistic, and inauthentic. A lot of this book did not age well. But, it is set in my hometown, and the setting descriptions are pretty spot on.”
Slightly Smiling Face“This was a good book. Lots of unexpected surprises. James Patterson wrote the bad guys well.”
Thumbs Up“I read this book because it was set in NC, my home state. This book was published 30 years ago; so there are is no tech savvy police work….just methodical detective work being done. It was a very fast read for me even though it was 481 pages. If you love a good crime mystery, you will love this one. I highly recommend it!”
