Kiss of the Basilisk

By Lindsay Straube
Kiss of the Basilisk by Lindsay Straube digital book - Fable

Publisher Description

From internet sensation Lindsay Straube comes the first book in the sexy, biting Split or Swallow series, featuring dangerous basilisks, competitive seduction, and a love triangle that could destroy kingdoms.

Twenty-year-old Temperance Verus has never been kissed. But that's what the basilisk is for.

Along with thirteen other contestants, Tem must train with a basilisk to learn the power of seduction and win the prince's hand in marriage. When Tem is matched with Caspen, the Serpent King, she realizes she might actually stand a chance.

But with tensions rising between the basilisks and the humans, Tem is suddenly torn in two directions. As her bond with Caspen deepens, so does her connection with the prince. When she uncovers a terrible secret about the royal family, Tem finds herself caught between two worlds, neither of which she can survive without.

“This was a spicy book with plot, the plot however I found messy and rushed at the end. Found Tem pretty annoying and I was team Leo which surprised me! The spice was not rushed and it was excessive (I'm not complaining). Ive rated this extra spicy due to the amount of events, but considering the training she was meant to have this was fairly vanilla and could have been way dirtier imo and why was there no 3some until the extra bonus chapter! Missed a trick there!”
Surprised Face with Open Mouth“i really liked where this story was going, and for the unhinged quality of the plot/characters. but I hated the FMC for a good chunk of the book. she has a very manipulative and defensive quality to her that bordered on selfish at times when good communication would have solved everything. would have loved to have a multi POV to keep up on the feels of the other 2 love interests but all in all, still love the story. I questioned myself on whether I liked the ending or not and if there seemed to be room for a second book, but am still having difficulty answering that as I mull over all I just read. but if a book 2 comes, I find myself obligated and alittle intrigued to read it lol”
