Q: Do I have to buy the ebook to participate in a book club?

No, you don’t have to buy the ebook to participate, but we do recommend it to get the most out of your club. There are several premium social reading features that are only available when you buy the ebook, like annotations, reactions, comment threads, resources, discussion prompts, and more, all embedded right in the text. It’s a unique and immersive way to read.

Q: Why can’t I buy the ebook on the app?

It’s annoying, we know. App store rules prevent us from selling directly in the app, so for now you can only purchase ebooks on our website. Don’t worry: when you purchase an ebook on the web, it’s automatically added to your bookshelf in the app.

Q: How is Fable’s reader different from Kindle?

Kindle is a straightforward e-reader; Fable is an interactive e-reader that includes social features inside the ebooks. When you read an ebook on Fable, you can see and react to the text with others in real time. Start a discussion, share highlights and quotes, add emoji reactions—all of it lives right inside the book. It’s hard to explain and easy to see, so we recommend reading the free sample in one of our most active clubs to get a feel for it.

Most of our clubs are completely free to join. The only exceptions are clubs marked as “Premium” or “Career Development,” which do require a fee. You can find out more on each club’s detail page.

“This story follows Stevie, who has always had a crush on her best friend’s brother, Caleb. Recently divorced and fighting for custody of his son, Owen, Caleb never expected one night with the blonde beauty he’s known for years to change everything. When he convinces Stevie to be his fake girlfriend to strengthen his case, neither of them anticipates just how real it might start to feel—for both of them. I loved the chemistry between Caleb and Stevie from the very beginning. Caleb was caring, flirty, and treated Stevie perfectly. She had always felt drawn to him—she’s strong, and I’m glad she never stooped to the ex’s level. I really enjoyed the story and honestly just wanted more time with this couple, as the audiobook felt like it went by too quickly. That said, the audiobook is brilliant, so I highly recommend picking it up in that format. I’m looking forward to reading more from these authors in the future! “A great introduction to the next in the Sterling Family series. This is book 1 of the Sterling Family Crossover, featuring a fake relationship, a custody battle and loads of spicy tension. Caleb & Stevie get put into an awkward situation when their one night stand falls into a relationship announcement. When hesitant of emotions, fate steps in to push them exactly where they need to be. The real/not real question brings plenty of tension and insecurity, but the truth always wins out in the end. Seeing Caleb step up with the BDE to stake his claim on Stevie was so much fun. Their chemistry and connection was clear from the start. I loved watching how easily Owen bonded with her and how seamlessly she fit in their life, which is ironic since the whole debate in her mind was if she FIT in his world. The truth is, his world is his family not his money, so that answer was a resounding YES. The ex drama on all sides of this story provided some healthy suspense to round out an emotional story. A great addition to this family saga. Sean Masters & Andi Arndt delivered a fantastic performance in audio. Their chemistry was spot on and the connection easy to feel in their reading. Andi especially really channeled into the insecurity in Stevie, i really felt her hesitation and doubt.”
