“What would happen if you took the story and tragic history of Jane Austen’s life, but added a True Blood twist? You would get this decently entertaining book. While slightly more slow paced and less entertaining than the actual True Blood story it was still an enjoyable read. In this novel we meet a young Jane who is struggling to find her way in the publishing world. After an ill fated night with a rakish gentleman Jane finds herself one of “the dammed” a group of Vampires the rome England and the rest of Europe. Upon the insistence of her family Jane decides to try to be cured by the waters of Bath. However when the French army decides to take Bath for themselves it is up to Jane and her new friends to fight for their country with their abnormal powers. In the end Jane must also decide if she wants to benefit from the life of a Vampire and lose her self as a writer day by day or if she wants to live the rest of her life out as her authentic self. I thought this book was fun if not simple. An easy read for someone who loves classics, but with a supernatural twist.”
