“It Ends With Her ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ARC REVIEW This anthology is show stopping amazing!! Each story is filled with heart thundering suspense, icy dread, throat clenching terror, and unwavering eeriness that will have you looking over your shoulder and watching the corners of every room. Every author in this anthology is incredibly talented and I can’t wait to read more from each of them. I highly recommend this anthology!! Below are reviews for each story: How to Swallow a Spaceship Annabella Wang ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Fast paced and immersive, world building has depth even with the story being short. You can feel Sutton’s drive, her unrelenting desire to be with her captain overwriting reason, duty, and fear. The writing is beautiful and atmospheric. Also Eldritch tentacle alien is hot. Salome Mireya Higuera ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The story is suspenseful, the interspersed articles really play up the tension and creeping dread—which I loved. The uncertainty had me theorizing and guessing all the way to the reveal. The slow unraveling of Adele is shown beautifully, the peeling back of her layers and what it’s like for her create and be consumed by her work are terrifying in their reality. The Lake Between Us Ren Mercer ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The suspense, the heart pounding terror. This story had me clawing at my throat and flinching from every reveal. I really admire Ren Mercer’s ability and skill to incorporate two “villains” into so few words, the lake and the doppelgängers. The lure of the cabin and the eventual succumbing to the lake is very pitcher plant-esk and i absolutely love that visual. Shattered David M. Simon Not contained in ARC Salt Liz Pinto ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This story is picturesque in its darkness, gory and simultaneously sensual. The call of the unknown is strong, breathtaking with every new facet, but love is stronger. Salt is beautifully written making the gothic sea side world come alive. Every description ties back to the sea in poetic rhythm that holds you with its own siren song. The characters revel in their darkness, each in their own way, making the clash and inevitable ending that much more satisfying. The Unholy Coven of My Shitty Ex-Girlfriend Frey Lylark ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Mysterious and eerie with a touch of well placed humor. I love the twist—it honestly blindsided me, which was very satisfying. The timeline jumps really played up the mystery and kept me on my toes. The creeping dread had my heart racing, and the surprise gore, I cackled as the bush swallowed its prize. I’m a stan for the main character—Margot can freaking suck it! Lonely, Dark and Deep Wren Handman ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The last line made me cry. I absolutely love that such a short story can pull such raw emotion so quickly. It is beautifully written, the descriptions of the house and the forest are so vivid and ethereal. The visual of “letting go” is heartbreaking. Hannah’s reluctance and eventual surrender is bittersweet. An Inferno of Ruin and Sin Kassandra Morgan ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Very atmospheric, all blood, hunger, and desire. You’re thrown head first into who Mari is, intricate details on who she used to be and who she is now. The small glimpse of Mari and Genevieve’s relationship is intriguing, I want—need—to know more about them. I’m hooked, line and sinker, for Secrets of the Moon. Girls With Fangs Kuza Vampire Not included in ARC Good For Her J. J. Carpenter ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Beautifully written. A song of revenge—so sweetly satisfying. Like the Flower of the Field L. B. Waltz ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Eloquently written. Laplace is very slick and inconspicuous, planting a seed and watching it grow exponentially. The visual of wanting—needing—to do anything to relieve one’s grief is heartbreaking. Slip Behind the Pixels Rebecca Bennett ⭐️⭐️⭐️ .5 The tension grows to anticipation, and then the realization hits you and it’s so good. I like the physical cost of magic, the sacrifices and gore are great. I was so invested, I turned the last page and yelled “that’s it!” The Werewolf and the Siren Nik Sylvan Not included in ARC Verdant Silence Toshiya Kamei ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The tension sets in right away, and that first line—superb! Terror, cold and breathless, twines around you, kicking your heart rate faster and faster. The whisper dread had me clutching my throat as my eyes raced across the pages. I loved the story, and that ending was so satisfying. Riptide C. A. Larkin ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The writing style is unique and immersive, making you feel as if you really are a part of the story. The MC drowning in apathy under their veneer is heartbreaking. Their deliberate and slow erosion is profound and poignant. Home Alchemy Dawn ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I’m always the first to run and hide over zombies but I absolutely love this portrayal. The hierarchy and the levels of decay—fascinating. The pain of losing someone while they’re right there in front of you and there’s nothing you can do about it is a gut punch and heartbreaking. The snap change got me good, and the gore and body horror—superb. I loved the ending, the inevitability was great. What I Know Now Samantha Bryant ⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 The mystery is compelling. The slow unraveling of Louisa, the undying love, and protection the MC must provide are dynamic. The all encompassing grief the MC feels is tear jerking. The ending was great, that twist—chef’s kiss. The Vampire’s Kiss Matsubara K. Not included in ARC Sisters Cat Delani ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The unease and terror are palpable. The instant change the characters feel is sharp and unrelenting. The left turn that took, blindsided me. I thought I knew what was going on and what was going to happen, but I was dead wrong and I absolutely loved it. That twist, I gasped. The Meaning of Flowers Chantell Saunders ⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 I love the imagery of the flowers changing, and the mystery surrounding them. I really enjoyed the flashbacks, they really showed the duality of the main character. The characters oppose each other, though they try to hide it. One panicked and wanting to escape, one reminiscing and accepting their fate. The dichotomy is a breath of fresh air, and extremely satisfying. Sirens Dona Vajgand Not included in ARC The Second Date Rachel M. Wilman ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The stakes are high, creating fast paced tension that resonates in your teeth. The touches of humor and gore had me giggling and simultaneously gagging. I like Sarah, her nontraditional take on her job is refreshing, and her loneliness is palpable. I thought I knew how the story was going to go but then it flipped around and turned upside down. That reveal and twist at the end got me. A Scream is a Sigh Turned Upside Down David M. Simon ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The snip and the plop will echo in your mind. Grief and love go hand in hand, the void that Nora feels is consuming and it pulls at your heart. The subtly of magic is unique. It’s just a hint—the perfect catalyst. The gore was very visceral, making me shudder. I couldn’t keep my eyes off the page. How far are you willing to go for love, and will you let it consume you? Velvet Dusk Liddell Rayne ⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 This story is a high stakes, gory, slasher movie-esque wild ride. Tension and dread scream across the pages as the suspense smothers you, taking your breath as your heartbeat skyrockets. The character’s terror had me hiding under the covers, I couldn’t put it down.”

“this sapphic horror anthology was phenomenal. full of wonderfully creepy short stories. my eARC unfortunately didnt have all the beautiful art though, so i will have to purchase a copy in the future, because judging by the cover alone (i know, i know... i can't help it though lol) i just know i'm missing a lot 😍 thank you so much to @deadfoxpub for gifting me this wonderful anthology. all reviews and opinions are my own, and posted voluntarily 💖”
