About Matthew Cook
After nearly 60 years of experiencing life in a small town environment, I have become closer to acquiring an inner peace. An appreciation of nature along with a positive outlook on life, has given me a unique perspective on a healthier existence. It has always been my intention to leave my readers with a feeling of calm, and a positive outlook to use as we all try to live in the present. Although we can all learn from the past, and plan for our future, ultimately the most important time we have to control in our lives is the present. Most all the poems printed here direct the reader to take on the present in a positive way. I live in Upstate New York in a little town called Horseheads. I enjoy nature very much, as I have been inspired to write after many campfires in my backyard. I was originally inspired by my paternal grandmother, who was also a published poet. Her name was Sarah Cook.
It is my only hope that I can bring some joy to as many people as I can while I am still on this earth. The words written here came from my heart, and directed to feed your soul. Take as much as you like, and spread the word.
