Publisher Description

He hasn’t written a word in over two years. She’s a well-respected literary agent he hires to repair his reputation. What could go wrong? Ian Bradberry is a wildly successful author. His crime thriller series has sold millions, but he hasn’t been able to write the final book in the series. Rumors abound on social media that he’s dead, but he’s really hiding out in the small town of Connor’s Grove trying to get his life back together. He suffered a tragic loss that’s left him unable to write and unwilling to communicate with others. He’s Mr. Grumpy personified. When Ian reaches out to literary agent Addison Steele to help repair his reputation and to represent him in his next book deal, they butt heads, and she isn’t sure that she wants to represent such a non-communicative grouch. But their mutual attraction keeps pulling them together. Ian makes excuses to interact with Addie and she finds herself helping him with the remodel of a dilapidated farmhouse. Just when Addie and Ian are making strides to build a relationship together, Ian’s mysterious past threatens to break them apart. Can Ian put his past behind him and find happiness with Addie? Book 8 in the Connor Brothers series of small-town, clean, and wholesome romances. This story is a blend of humor and romance, letting go of a painful past, and opening one’s heart to second chances. Fans of Hallmark movies will love this delightful, touching eighth book in the series. This novel may be read as a stand-alone.

Inspire Me (Connor Brothers #8) Reviews

4.5
“This book was a book I couldn’t put down. I enjoyed every page of it and it left me wanting more. I loved Ian and Addisons relationship and enjoyed their relationship from the beginning. Ian is a writer who has written a bestselling series called The Redemption series. When he fails to write a book 6 because his wife died, his publisher drops him. 2 years later he meets Addison and ends up writing the book 6 in the series. Addison on the other hand is an agent who recently moved back into town when her father dies so she can take care of her mother. She also does night school teaching. When her mom goes missing she calls Ian to help find her. Addison eventually makes the hard decision to put her mother in a home to help deal with her declining state. Ian goes off to New York due to it being the 2 year anniversary of his wives death. He doesn’t really talk to anyone (including Addison) because he got into the zone of writing book 6 of The Redemption series. That’s when Addison forgives him for kinda going off the grid and decides she’s going to at least try and have Ian’s former publisher publish the book. When that doesn’t happen, Addison goes to the author who is assigned to write book 6 in hopes of trying to convince someone that this Ian’s book 6 should be the version that should be published.”
“Holy smokes! I think this is my favorite book by Leah Busboom so far. I was very solidly Team Max... But Ian, my word. I must have a weak spot for handsome, broody men with a hint of melancholy. I absolutely adored watching his transformation as he worked through past hurts and griefs. Addison, for the most part, was very patient and supportive of him, once she got past the grumpy exterior of course. There were moments where things seemed bleak for this couple, but the raw, powerful emotions displayed by Ian really got to me. Plus there was the added sentiment and emotion as Addie had to navigate her mother's declining health. Also, I'm a sucker for a main character (especially the male lead) who is an author. As a lifelong bookworm, I've always wanted to write my own books, but have really decided that I'm probably just better off as the reader. So when the leading man of a romance novel is an author (especially a successful one), well be still my heart. Honestly, I have really seen such growth in this author's writing as I've been reading the Connor Brothers series since its start. Each book just draws me in more. You could certainly read each book on its own, but I really think they're even better when enjoyed as a whole. Technically, we're moving further away from the original brothers for which the series is named, but it's still set in that world with those characters making periodic appearances so I think all these books fit well together as one series. And this cover!! Another home run. I received a complimentary copy of this book and I'm leaving an honest and voluntary review.”
