“This book SCARED ME.
Anything involving kids is instantly 10x creepier, but the descriptions of Other Mommy??? Absolutely not. I was ready to sleep with the light on and barricade my wardrobe door 😭
Took a minute to adjust to the 8-year-old narrator perspective, but honestly it was really well done (I’m a teacher and Bela felt super believable). Some bits her age wobbled slightly, but I can forgive that because writing a full book in an 8yo voice is no joke.
Story was great but a bit repetitive. Also: despised the mum 🫠 Dad was sweet but also a wet lettuce 😅
Overall: terrifying, unsettling, worth it. 4 stars”“Super creepy! Really interesting reading everything from the perspective of a child. Interesting choice with the formatting, I got used to it but it was slightly confusing sometime. I'm still pretty confused by the ending!”
