“As I read this book I had to stop and think of all the times I have waved someone on across the road after checking my mirror to make sure the way was clear. I realized then just how fast something like this can happen.
Meg, a wife, mother and successful realtor makes a decision to wave a teenage boy across the street. She checked her mirror, she didn’t see the car but what she does see is Jack Beckett hitting the windshield of the car and flying through the air landing on the pavement. So has her daughter Audrey. Each of them now facing the reality of what had happened and each dealing with the trauma in different ways. With the guilt Meg feels memories and nightmares of an accident in her past come flooding back. Her best friend Paige was killed in an accident when they were teens. Now all Meg wants to do is help this family as they deal with Jack and the reality of his accident.
But a broken family, guilt, remorse and secrets can only bring on problems and things spiral out of control.
I really enjoyed reading In this Moment, a second book I’ve read by Karma Brown. Each of the characters could be a real life story, choices made could have gone differently as well.”
