The stories in this collection are varied, but overall, I think they possess a quiet strength and cold foreignness (alien) - a detached feeling of power. It's hard to describe, but these were the kinds of feelings I had while reading the stories. Overall, a pretty interesting collection of stories, although I did not really care for the last two.”

George Zebrowski is a science fiction author and editor who has written and edited a number of books, and is a former editor of
. Zebrowski received the John W. Campbell Memorial Award in 1999 for his novel
