“I think this is my favorite Arthur C. Clarke book so far. There are so many ideas presented here that we just take for granted today - having a little computer device in your pocket that shows you the weather and time and lets you communicate with people and look up information...
It was also cool seeing Duncan adapt to Earth gravity, and tour around Earth with his completely different perspective - seeing horses and insects for the first time, getting to see (and snorkel in) the ocean.... plus experiencing all kinds of new smells and tastes.
I also liked the ending - while the middle of the book is more about Duncan's personal experiences, suddenly it delves in to mystery territory, and then scientific advancements, and humanity's next great frontier.
I'd recommend this one as a good Clarke read if you're trying to decide where to start.”
