“I purchased this book after meeting Ali at the HEA event in Liverpool back in February. I was taken by her passion for the characters and how they were inspired by her own experiences and characters from her life.
I read this book in one sitting on a long haul flight and found it addictive. I couldn’t put it down and became invested in Imogen and Cameron’s story. I loved that the characters all felt very well rounded. No one felt like a side character and I’m excited to delve more into their stories next.”

✨ What I Liked
Powerful & Real Representation: The way the book handled domestic violence, coercion, and control was so incredibly well done and impactful.
The Found Family & Support System: I loved seeing Imogen's and Cameron’s separate found families merge into one beautiful support system. Shoutout to Lucy’s bravery and James always being there for them!
An Emotional Rollercoaster: The hospital scene was absolutely heartbreaking.
A Complete Journey: I deeply appreciated that the book didn't just end at the pivotal point or the initial outcome. It went beyond that to give us a full, complete story.
🔍 What I Was Unsure Of
The Pacing/Writing Style: While I loved the story, I felt it lacked a bit of "light and shade" in either the writing style or the pacing. Because the tone stayed a bit too uniform throughout, it kept me from giving it a full 5 stars, but it is still an incredibly strong 4-star read!”
