I tried hard but I could not imagine trying to get through another 200+ plus pages of this book!
The characters were extremely flat, no depth, no personality & entirely one-dimensional. I was not invested in any of them.
The magic system in this book was extremely flawed and lacked explanation. The plot dragged and the writing style was all over the place for me.
I feel like the concept of this book had great potential, dark academia, vampires & A MAGIC HOUSE but it was so disjointed to deliver on any of it.”flowa

“I love the world this story is set in, the new take on vampires, the lore, the Ethiopian culture infused throughout etc. but the main character is very unlikeable and there are definite pacing issues. I will be reading the second one and would recommend this book, just know it’s a lot of information and it will get confusing.
Also the book would’ve been 100 pages shorter had she not described what people’s eyes and mouths were doing at all times. 🥴”Rebelrebel
