Publisher Description

In this thrilling adventure, our magical heroine embarks on a dangerous journey in order to bring justice to the kingdom—perfect for fans of Sabaa Tahir and Sarah J. Maas.

Reeling from betrayal at the hands of the Whispers, Renata Convida is a girl on the run. With few options and fewer allies, she's reluctantly joined forces with none other than Prince Castian, her most infuriating and intriguing enemy. They're united by lofty goals: find the fabled Knife of Memory, kill the ruthless King Fernando, and bring peace to the nation. Together, Ren and Castian have a chance to save everything, if only they can set aside their complex and intense feelings for each other.

With the king's forces on their heels at every turn, their quest across Puerto Leones and beyond leaves little room for mistakes. But the greatest danger is within Ren. The Gray, her fortress of stolen memories, has begun to crumble, threatening her grip on reality. She'll have to control her magics—and her mind—to unlock her power and protect the Moria people once and for all.

For years, she was wielded as weapon. Now it's her time to fight back.

Smiling Face with Heart-Eyes“The second novel to Incendiary. A lot of truths were dropped at the end of the first novel and Renata continues on her journey with an unlikely companion, one that she doesn’t entirely get along with. They are set on a journey to set the kingdom right and make it a better world for those with Moria magic. I loved this one more than the first one. Admittedly, I like a little romance to my books and the first one didn’t really have any and that’s ok. This one explores Renata’s complex feelings about the truth she has discovered and the truth she thought she knew.”
Expressionless Face“After the initial 50–80 pages, I had hoped that it would move at a faster pace, which would make it better than the first book, but as the story continues, it turns out that it's still mediocre. Ren and Castian's journey in Illusionary revolves around retrieving the Knife of Memory, a weapon they hold as the only means to end King Fernando's wickedness and bring peace to the nation. Still, the main issue I had was how uninteresting it was. Nothing interesting happening made it easy for me to lose my focus. The concept of the Knife of Memory itself is vague, and I feel like the knife won't make any difference for the king. In the end, I feel like their voyage to retrieve the Knife is intended only for romance purpose and for character development. Another thing that bothered me is their so-called enemy-to-lovers relationship. The hatred that is referred to is more like the hatred between siblings, with their bickering and disagreements. It's not so intense that you feel the urge to kill each other. I truly hope this is just me who failed to grasp the story and connect with the characters.”
