“I have never been someone to read short stories, but I thoroughly enjoyed these short stories.
-1: Three Imaginary Conversations with You
I liked the way this story was written. While the words made it sound like it hadn't happened yet, it sounded like it would happen the way she told it would. In a way made it sound like the events hadn't and have happened all at once.
4/5 stars
-2: The Downside of Being Fabulous
This story had a light whimsical tone to it, but still felt tense. This story is about finding oneself outside of stereotypes. That just because you are something doesn't mean you have to act or dress or be a certain way just for others.
4/5 stars
-3: The Night of the Living Creeper
Interesting perspective through a cat.
3/5 stars
-4: Makeshift
This had depth like the first story with manipulation, self identity, domestic abuse.
4.5/5 stars
-5: Things We Get Over, Things We Don't
It makes you think. We shouldn't wait for a tragedy to strike before telling someone how you feel. A tragedy might change how you might go about telling someone news, but it could be too late or too difficult.
4.5/5 stars
-6: Coffee Chameleon
Heartwarming, inspirational, and confusing all in one story.
4.5/5 stars
-7: Hush
Started off as a nice family that was working through unfortunate circumstances. Transitioned into a thriller.
4/5 stars
-8: Blackbird
This story shows how people can connect from outside expectations or assumptions that we can't control. How one can choose to ignore outside noise and focus on the person/ people who actually matter.
4/5 stars
-9: Gone From This Place
This was a simple and comical comic. Only if life was that easy.
3/5 stars
-10: The Sweeter the Sin
Everything might seem there to make a relationship, but we all make mistakes and fumble. Maybe the timing wasn't right.
-11: The Mistake
Throughout the story, the mistake seems to change. At the beginning, the mistake seems to be how they were so wreckless. The middle mistake was that she got pregnant. And the at the end how she was unsure of her decision to go through with the abortion. It was a growing experience.
3/5 stars
-12: The Good Brother
When we find out what the twin brother did we think that he us indeed the good brother. But after reading his letter, you start to realize that his one action may have seemed to be good, but it was just overlapping all the bad that he had done.
3.5/5 stars
Overall, these stories were all eye opening and refreshing to read.”
