Hunter Avenged

By N.J. Walters
Hunter Avenged by N.J. Walters digital book - Fable

Publisher Description

It’s taken Viking hunter Sven Knutson six frustrating months to find her. To track down the angel responsible for compromising the Forgotten Brotherhood and waking the drakon. She may be clever. Resourceful. But no one ever gets away from Sven. Ever.

All Rivka longed for as an angel was a chance to serve on Earth and help humans. Instead, it all went impossibly, horribly wrong, and she still doesn’t understand how or even why. All she knows is that she’s on the run—not only from Heaven’s dangerous elite guard, but also from the Brotherhood, who want answers.

She might just have to trust the immortal Viking whose icy blue eyes make her feel almost wickedly human. Because someone wants Rivka dead and the Brotherhood eliminated. Someone powerful enough to take on the most dangerous assassins who have ever lived. Someone who could unleash the fury of both Heaven and Hell…and Rivka is the key.

Each book in the Forgotten Brotherhood series is STANDALONE:
* Fury Unleashed
* Arctic Bite
* Burning Ash
* Bjorn Cursed
* Ancient Desire
* Hunter Avenged

“Rivka and Sven have this odd opposites attract vibe and I totally enjoyed it. I also really like the brotherhood of the brotherhood and their mates. It creates like a found family feeling which I also loved. Both Rivka and Sven are wonderful, so its easy to love them. Rivka has a sort of quiet, understated strength. She is the type to weld a sword in battle, but she is brilliant and fierce all the same. I really need to go back and read the rest of this series! “This book is sensational! Part of the Forgotten Brotherhood series, there is enough details given that this book can be read as a standalone, but for fullest enjoyment, I recommend reading the other books in this series. I adored Sven and his grumpy self. Tall and broody, he is everything needed in a hero. Rivka is an angel on the run. She had been set up, but doesn't know who did it. She is trying to uncover the truth before she is found. Sven is a hunter on Rivka's trail. After tracking her for 6 months, he finds her working in a bar. She is not what he expected, too innocent to be guilty of the deeds described. He brings her to the Brotherhood for questioning. Sven believes her story and is willing to fight on her behalf, since she is reluctant to take on the angels after her. Let the hunt begin! Merged review: This book is sensational! “I was surprised and happy to see this series had another book coming. This book featured Sven, Bjorn's son from the fourth book in the series. This a standalone but I would recommend reading the series in order as the stories are connected. I loved that Rivka was not intimidated by Sven. Or any of the men from the Brotherhood that she met. Sven and Rivka teleport to various places as they search for a book that might hold to key to finding out who set this all in motion. Sven how been searching the globe to track down the angel who compromised the Forgotten Brotherhood and had a hand in waking the drakon. Rivka had always wanted to serve on Earth and help humans. But something went wrong and she realized that she'd been a pawn in someone else game. She's on the run from not only the brotherhood but also an elite group of angels. When they finally cross paths, Rivka makes the choice to trust the immortal Viking man. Because the person who wants Rivka dead and the Brotherhood gone is powerful. Someone willing to upset the balance that's been in place. Thanks so much to the author and Entangled Publishing for this ARC to review. “Sven Knutson is a Viking hunter that worked for as an assassin for the goddess Freya for a millennia. After he is released from her service, he joins the Forgotten Brotherhood. The Forgotten Brotherhood is a group of assassins that police the paranormal world. If someone or something paranormal needs killing, they are the ones that do it. They only have a few rules. One is to never betray a fellow assassin & the other is to only kill people that are guilty. Sven has been tracking an angel for six months. She’s proven to be very resourceful, but Sven always gets his man (or woman in this case). As he follows her around the globe, he starts to wonder if she’s as bad as he is being told. Rivka was the Keeper of Angelic Records. When she’s offered a chance to leave the celestial realm & go to Earth, she is thrilled. She’s given a chance to help people with the Angel Foundation. What she doesn’t know is that she’s being used by a higher power to find psychic women. When she realizes what the foundation was doing & that the Forgotten Brotherhood is after her, she runs. I really liked Sven & Rivka, but the book was missing something. I read it quickly, but there was just no depth to this book. It was all very surface oriented to me, if that even makes sense. There was no delving into the past & learning more about these two. It was all very much in the present. I’m not sure if I’ll read the next book in the series. There is not another character that I am interested in reading about. It’s been several weeks since I read this book & I honestly don’t remember that much about it. Rating: 3 out of 5. “Rivka just wanted to be more than a heavenly Librarian but someone set her up to take the fall and now she's trying to clear her name and reputation. Sven is an immortal Viking warrior. He wants revenge on the dastardly Angel who tried to mess with the Forgotten Brotherhood. I loved learning more about Sven, the new relationship he has with his parents and his work with the Forgotten Brotherhood. He's all Alpha male but he has a tender heart - you just don't see it often under all that muscle! Rivka had a powerful if boring position in Heaven. She was the guardian of the library but she wanted to get to know Humans and really help them - not just read about it. But now she's on the run with both the Brotherhood and Angels after her. Can she convince Sven of her innocence and gain his help or will he just take his revenge? Rivka and Sven may on the surface be opposites, she's the intellectual and he the instinctual warrior but Rivka is no simpering damsel. She has a power of her own - even if she doesn't think so. I loved the camaraderie, covered in grumpiness, that the Brotherhood has and the mates are helpful to the newer mates - assisting them with fitting in and learning how to manage these warriors! Intense chemistry, engaging personalities, and never a dull moment. I really love this series and really hope that it continues for a good while yet!
