“As an inspirational Christian suspense novel, Hunted in the Wilderness kept me reading from the very beginning. Haley Whitcombe, future CEO of her father’s aeorotech company flees for her life in her plane. Striving to get proof of someone else’s espionage plans, her plane gets forced down. Fortunately, she lands in the path of a police officer on temporary assignment as a park ranger, Ezra Dalton. The chemistry between the two grabbed my attention from the very beginning. I loved getting to know the characters and reading about their resourcefulness. I felt like this book moved along at an excellent pace. The storyline included the expected “good” people and “bad” people. But it also included a lot more. I loved seeing the people who assisted Haley and Ezra along their journey. The way they rely on their faith, as well as their brains, helps bring this story to life in a meaningful way. I also appreciated how Ezra’s story comes to light. Kellie VanHorn created a captivating, inspiring, and inspirational story. So if you enjoy Christian inspirational novels, check out this book for yourself. I received a complimentary copy of this book, but this in no way influenced my review. All opinions are my own.”
“I absolutely love this newest release from Kellie VanHorn. She provides suspense and action from the very first page. Haley is on the run, trying to prove her innocence when she crashes in the mild of a national park with hit men after her. Ezra, a park ranger, assigns himself to helping her navigate her way out of the wilderness. Now they have to survive the wild and the hit men, both could mean deadly consequences if they aren’t careful. This should be your next read if you like: -A second love romance after loss -A slow burn romance (so worth it!) -Forced proximity between Haley and Ezra as they try to survive in the forest. -The beauty of the outdoors and national parks as Kellie VanHorn describes the view in such a way that puts you there in the wilderness with her characters. -Humor and banter between Haley and Ezra, that helps diffuse the tension of being chased in a surprisngly refreshing way that had me laughing out loud! Faith elements: Moments of questioning faith for both characters after their grief and trying to move on. We see this on page as their relationships with Christ becomes deeper and more meaningful, while their own relationship with one another follows suit. Romance/Steam Level: One teacup- kissing only *Please visit our website for any potential triggers and our tea recommendation for this book. **Note: I received an advanced copy of this book from the author; however, all thoughts and opinions are my own.”
“This is the first book I have read by this author and she didn’t disappoint me. Haley is rescued by Ezra (a National Park Service Ranger) after her plane went down in the North Cascades National Park. Haley had evidence that one of her Dad’s employees was trying to take off the family business without her Dad’s knowledge. Then this employee was trying to frame Haley with economic espionage and murder of a security guard. The storyline tells us how Haley and Ezra get away from the men who tracked Haley down (who were hired by this employee). While on the run they meet up with a mother bear & 2 cubs and have to find away past them. They had to avoid being shot at multiple times and while Haley got a hold of the family lawyer to come take her back to Seattle to tell her side of the story to her Dad and show him the evidence that she had against the employee. But she finds out on the way to the office that the family lawyer was in on the takeover of the company and ends up kidnapping Haley and holding her and Ezra hostage. The storyline goes on to tell how Ezra and Haley escape again and set things right. I can’t wait to read more books by Kellie.”
