“A sweeping multigenerational saga of an Irish mining family. A bit slow in places, but gives an interesting look at Irish history and culture. I found the epilogue, which takes place during the Ireland's civil war, to be especially fascinating.”
“i can not put into words how much I loved this book! It was a beautiful, heartbreaking, romantic epic about the mishaps and fortunes of the Broderick family over the span of 100 years. Full of engrossing characters that are each tortured in their own way. A beautifully written story that I simply couldn’t put down. This was my third du Maurier book and I can’t wait to read more”
