SANDRA L BROWN, M.A., is an author, conference leader and consultant in the field of domestic violence. She was the founder of Bridgework Counseling Center, which provided intensive outpatient counseling and residential treatment for women with chronic histories of victimization. Her work has encompassed almost every area of emotional trauma, and she has worked in numerous treatment modalities such as domestic violence shelters, psychiatric hospitals, and outpatient clinics. She wrote COUNSELING VICTIMS OF VIOLENCE, a book for counselors. She lectures nationally and internationally on the issues of women's victimization. Sandra Brown lives in Penrose, North Carolina.
