How to Relax
ByPublisher Description
Zen teacher Thich Nhat Hanh reminds us to stop, relax, and recharge amid the hub-bub of daily life—offering mindfulness techniques and relaxing meditations for anytime, anywhere.
Thich Nhat Hanh says that when we relax, we “become calm water, and we will reflect reality as it is. If we’re not calm, the image we reflect will be distorted. When the image is distorted by our minds, it’s not the reality, and it causes lots of suffering.” Relaxation is essential for accessing the tranquility and joy that lead to increased personal well-being. Part of Thich Nhat Hanh’s series of pocket-sized mindfulness books for beginners and seasoned practitioners, How to Relax includes sections on:
• Healing
• Relief from nonstop thinking
• Transforming unpleasant sounds
• Solitude
• Being peace
• And more
With meditations for achieving the benefits of relaxation no matter where you are, How to Relax is the perfect gift for any seeking guidance on finding deep relaxation, controlling stress, and renewing mental freshness and clarity.

About Thich Nhat Hanh
Thich Nhat Hanh was a world-renowned spiritual teacher and peace activist. Born in Vietnam in 1926, he became a Zen Buddhist monk at the age of sixteen. Over seven decades of teaching, he published more than 100 books, which have sold more than four million copies in the United States alone. Exiled from Vietnam in 1966 for promoting peace, his teachings on Buddhism as a path to social and political transformation are responsible for bringing the mindfulness movement to Western culture. He established the international Plum Village Community of Engaged Buddhism in France, now the largest Buddhist monastery in Europe and the heart of a growing community of mindfulness practice centers around the world. He passed away in 2022 at the age of 95 at his root temple, Tu Hieu, in Hue, Vietnam.
