How to Deceive a Duke Reviews

3.5
“It started out well and I enjoyed the first half of the book. But the book went in a direction I wasn’t expecting. The part of arranged marriage books that I most enjoy is seeing how the couple’s relationship grows and changes once they’re married. Often they are forced to work together or trust each other because of outside circumstances. That is not really the trajectory of this couple unfortunately. They never effectively communicate their feelings and desires to each other, often learning things from other people and jumping to conclusions. And even when you think they finally overcame their problems and reconcile, the Hero disappears without a word for seemingly no reason. The last 10% was a real slog to get through and I just wanted it to end. There was nothing satisfactory about the ending to me.”
