Cultivated from his many essays, articles, and letters, as well as his classic works, this illuminating and thought-provoking collection provides practical wisdom and direction Christians can use to nurture their faith and become more devout disciples of Christ.

By provoking readers to more carefully ponder their faith, How to Be a Christian can help readers forge a deeper understanding of their personal beliefs and what is means to be a Christian, and strengthen their profound relationship with God.

How to Be a Christian Reviews

“If you’ve read a fair amount of C.S. Lewis already, this isn’t essential as many of the ideas will feel familiar. A few chapters that were new to me feel too brief for the weight of the topic. There were times I was genuinely interested in a chapter, only for the topic to be covered in just a few pages, leaving me craving for more. The best chapters here are still the ones taken from Mere Christianity and The Weight of Glory, so I strongly recommend reading those instead. If you’re looking for something similar as an introduction to Lewis (a collection of essays/reflections), I’d point you to How to Pray.”
Surprised Face with Open Mouth“This was a fascinating read, easily one of the most insightful books I’ve read. It challenged my preconceptions of Christianity and revealed how far my understanding had been from its true essence. C. S. Lewis writes with remarkable humility, and his use of scripture is both thoughtful and illuminating, offering a fresh perspective on what it truly means not only to be a Christian, but to live a morally grounded and meaningful life.”
“I absolutely loved this book! 💗 If it had actual bible verses to go along with some of the topics, it would make a great devotional. Even so I think Lewis tackles some controversial topics very well and in a manner that still applies today. I learned so much about even my own views on Christianity and it really had me having deep discussions with myself and friends about some of the themes. This is a collection of essays so it does not need to be read in order if you don’t want to. The language may be challenging for some, it was for me at times 😅 But still the main point got across. This is my first time reading something by Lewis besides the Chronicles of Narnia and I’m so blown away. Can’t wait to read more of his work.”
