Publisher Description

NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER • Get swept away by this “haunting” (Bustle) YA novel about twelve beautiful sisters living on an isolated island estate who begin to mysteriously die one by one. This dark and atmospheric fairy tale inspired story is perfect for fans of Yellowjackets.

"Step inside a fairy tale." —Stephanie Garber, #1 New York Times bestselling author of Caraval

In a manor by the sea, twelve sisters are cursed.

Annaleigh lives a sheltered life at Highmoor with her sisters and their father and stepmother. Once there were twelve, but loneliness fills the grand halls now that four of the girls' lives have been cut short. Each death was more tragic than the last--the plague, a plummeting fall, a drowning, a slippery plunge--and there are whispers throughout the surrounding villages that the family is cursed by the gods.

Disturbed by a series of ghostly visions, Annaleigh becomes increasingly suspicious that her sister's deaths were no accidents. The girls have been sneaking out every night to attend glittering balls, dancing until dawn in silk gowns and shimmering slippers, and Annaleigh isn't sure whether to try to stop them or to join their forbidden trysts. Because who--or what--are they really dancing with?

When Annaleigh's involvement with a mysterious stranger who has secrets of his own intensifies, it's a race to unravel the darkness that has fallen over her family--before it claims her next. House of Salt and Sorrows is a spellbinding novel filled with magic and the rustle of gossamer skirts down long, dark hallways. Be careful who you dance with...

And don't miss Erin Craig's Small Favors, a mesmerizing and chilling novel about dark wishes and even darker dreams.

Surprised Face with Open Mouth“Amazing. I didn’t guess the end and I usually do. I was amazed at how confused I was similar to the main character. I loved the writing and setting. Verify is my baby!”

Thinking Face“wow this was a lot. i thought it took too long to get good and the ending was crazy rushed. how is cassius gonna be dead for just a chapter? lol i literally didn’t have time to mourn cause it was so out of the blue and then it was over lol”

Anxious Face with sweat“I’m… shocked? happy? scared? I don’t know but i loved it. I will say at some points i wanted to stop reading because it got a little too real, but that’s what made it good! i’m so glad cassius is alive because i truly could not take anymore death. i loved this book so much”

Anxious Face with sweat“This book has been in my shelves unread for a long time, but I’m so glad I finally read it. I was not expecting the plot to get as dark as it did since it’s a YA book but I loved it. If the romance wasn’t a driving factor is the main characters decision making I would have given it 5 stars.”

Thinking Face“Went into this fairly blind. Overall, it was a decent read! The story was fast paced and kept me wanting to know what was next, but the character's beliefs and actions often fell flat for me. A couple of examples: Annaleigh thinks she hallucinated Cassius but never questioned if she was just genuinely losing it, or when Camille jokes about killing Annaleigh in a family that is marred by continuous death...feels like lazy or not very well fleshed out writing to me.”

About Erin A. Craig

Erin A. Craig has always loved telling stories. After getting her BFA in Theatre Design and Production from the University of Michigan, she stage-managed tragic operas filled with hunchbacks, séances, and murderous clowns, then decided she wanted to write books that were just as spooky. An avid reader, an embroidery enthusiast, a rabid basketball fan, and a collector of typewriters, Erin makes her home in West Michigan with her husband and daughter. Her debut novel, House of Salt and Sorrows, has sold over 100,000 copies; her second novel, Small Favors, was an instant New York Times bestseller.
