“It’s fantastic. Unnerving, but not quite a thriller. The ending is not what I expected. I figured I would see character growth and cycle breaking, but the ending itself was very satisfying nevertheless.”“So…what did I read? Where do I begin? First, I was not expecting such heavy themes with Horrid. But that didn’t bother me at all. I do like my books to be dark and twisty. In fact, in some ways, Horrid reminds me of Daisy Darker due to similar themes.
Second, I really don’t know how I feel about Horrid. The following are some of my points: The pacing of the story was incredibly slow to me. There were parts of the story where I got quite bored to the point where Horrid put me to sleep! At times, I was patiently waiting for something to happen.
Third, what saved Horrid for me was the ending. Talk about jaw dropping. I love when books go against the grain. Anyways, I was not expecting this review to be this long.
