Publisher Description

A time-traveling, futuristic saga of a family trying to outlast and remake a universe with a power unlike any we've seen before.

When Raisa Hopeland, determined to win her race to become the next electromancer of London, bumps into Amon Brightbourne—tweed-suited, otherworldly, guided by the Grace—in the middle of a London riot, she sets in motion a series of events which will span decades, continents and a series of events which will change the world.

From rioting London to geothermal Iceland to the climate-struck islands of Polynesia, from birth to life to death, from tranquillity to terror to joy, Raisa’s journey will encompass the world. But one thing will always be true.

Hopeland is family—and family is dangerous.

3.5
“This was such an interesting sci-fi read! I’ve been reading a bit more sci-fi books lately and I thought this was a pretty good one. I really liked the author’s writing style and I liked the characters in this book. There were times where this book felt a bit long, but overall it’s a good one that I think sci-fi lovers should enjoy”
“Incredible.”
“Absolute madness. Did I enjoy not knowing what was going on a lot of the time? Yup. Would I read again? Probably not. Do I have any regrets? Nope. I can't really put words to this one, much like how I felt about Gideon the Ninth, you just have to plow in and find out for yourself. It's a 3.5, purely personal, I feel like I've dulled my senses in recent weeks with a lot of easy reads and YA. If you're looking for sophisticated surrealist adult literature, this is probably a pick for you. Enjoy!”
