“When it comes to content, I was not disappointed. I was looking for books to help me understand when and how our culture moved to center the home with clear gender roles. This book focuses specifically on American post WWII, and it did not disappoint. That being said, while some chapters were riveting, others were slow and repetitive. I found myself eager to discover the ideas May put forth, while at the same time, not always eager to pick up the boom and push through. Overall this was a good read. It will have a permanent home on my shelf and will likely be something I will reference again and again.”
