“I literally laughed out loud when in the middle of the sex scene, one of them (I don’t remember which they are intensely interchangeable and generic) lowers himself onto the other “in a reverse push-up.” Are the straights okay??
Okay so I read this one because I enjoyed her older retired lady assassin books. But this one made me think that perhaps the author has never… met a gay man? The dialogue was cringe, the characters were incredibly dull and substitutable. And their relationship felt problematically heteronormative. Oh it actually felt like—you know like woman-on-woman porn created for the male gaze? It was like that, but reversed.

“How is a book - enemies to lovers, grumpy sunshine, slow burn and insta love, all in one book?!
Another reviewer said it best, there is too much story for this short of a book.”
