“This was such a sweet and charming story, full of romance, fun moments, animals, a mystery, and even some difficult topics. But Slattery gives a story filled with hope, love, and second chances. From the moment Stephanie started interacting with Caden, I knew I was hooked. They had such easy chemistry, and though they both had some difficult back stories to grow from, Slattery brought together in such a tender, loving way.
With the background that Stephanie has, I did expect there to be more apprehension when she was first around Caden. But I appreciated the way Slattery took her time with these characters, and gave them space to sort through their feelings and their fears. And even when something big happens at the vet office, and it looks like our cute couple may be headed for trouble, I feel like (Caden especially) reacted in a natural way given the circumstances.
In addition, Slattery provides a beautiful faith thread, and honestly I enjoyed this part of the book very much. I love the ministry that Stephanie’s hosts have. I can see that being a true ministry, and hope there are ones like that across the country. It was really a touching part of the story.
I think Love Inspired fans will enjoy this new story, the characters, the charming town, and even the animals. I know this is a story I could read again on a realizing afternoon! I received a complimentary copy of this book. I was not required to write a favorable review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.”
