“good story too bad it was ruined by ableism, racism, and a rape scene that ended with the girl actually liking it in the end (which really added nothing to the plot outside of showing that Roman was deranged, which the reader already knew). i feel that the usage of derogatory language can be used in a way that is tasteful and comments on system or oppression. this can be seen with the shitty cops using the n word and Peter and his family being referred to as the g slur. unfortunately the author doesn’t seem to be interested on actually saying anything insightful or critical of these systems of oppression and instead just seemed to be fond of using shocking language. again, i did like the story. i even liked the writing style, which is understandably polarizing for readers, but anytime i found myself enjoying the story, i was taken out of it by the author making it clear he is an immature white boy who likes middle school-esque edgy humor.”
